Beautification Efforts Visible Across the City

Post Date:11/30/2018 9:28 AM

Your drive around Colleyville is starting to look much nicer. In recent months, the Colleyville Parks and Recreation department has focused its efforts and resources on beautification projects across the City.

Median maintenance is one of the biggest tasks the Parks Division takes on. When medians on Glade Road were scorched from the summer heat, the Parks Department stepped in to remove old landscaping, repaired irrigation systems, and installed new landscape and hardscape.

Their attention then turned to the roundabout at Jackson and Cheek-Sparger. There, crews removed old plant materials, repaired the irrigation system, and installed new landscaping, lighting, and statues. The statues on the Jackson, Cheek-Sparger Roundabout are the second in a series of five public art statue installations planned throughout the City.

Crews have also spent time this fall trimming back brush and overgrowth at the Cotton Belt Trail and other locations in the City. “The parks department team continues to improve the look of our community at every turn as a part of our ongoing effort to enhance the beauty and exceptionalism of Colleyville,” remarked Mayor Richard Newton.Roundabout
