Despite continuous rains, crews were able to complete the resurfacing of Bedford Road from Glade Road to Center Park Drive. That portion of the road is freshly paved and the previous barricades to through traffic have been removed.

The rains did affect the project's schedule and crews were not able to work on the portion of Bedford Road from Centerpark Drive to the bridge. Construction crews will return to complete this section until dry weather this summer.

With the expected rains, production was slowed on Bedford Road. Hot mix asphalt was placed from Glade Road to Centerpark Drive. This week, weather permitting, crews will try to work on the section from Centerpark Drive to the bridge. With rain scheduled all week, it could delay this section from getting stabilized and paved. The city will keep an eye on the forecast and get it completed without inconvenience to the traveling public. Crews are working to complete this section by late May.

BEDFORD ROAD RESURFACING as of May 2

The recent rains have caused the roadway to be rebuilt in two phases. The section of road from Glade Road to Centerpark Drive has now been cement stabilized and ready for asphalt this week. Hot mix is scheduled for Monday, May 4, and Tuesday, May 5. However with the forecasted rains for Monday, it may take place Tuesday and Wednesday, May 5 and 6.

Dependent upon inclement weather forecasted for next week, the contractor is scheduled to start existing asphalt removal Wednesday May, 7, on Bedford Road -- from Centerpark Drive to the bridge. This will be performed under lane closure. If the weather does hold and we can start on Wednesday, Tarrant County will then place cement slurry on Thursday, tight blade on Friday and place the new hot mix on Saturday. Lane closures will be in place all week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

BEDFORD ROAD RESURFACING as of April 25

The city will close a section of Bedford Road between Glade Road and Centerpark Drive. The contractor will begin work at 8:00 a.m. the morning of Monday, April 25. The residents in Sunrise Terrace will have to enter and exit on to Glade Road. We have posted a message board at Garry Lynne Drive and Glade Road advising drivers that the Sunrise Terrace neighborhood is not a cut through.

Dependent on weather, this section should be complete mid-May. At that point, when weather allows, we will do the section from Centerpark Drive to the bridge. This section will be performed under traffic with one lane open at all times. Residents, busses, postal service, trash and fire and police will always have access.
