Temporary Signs on Commercial Properties Require a Permit
Effective March 1, Temporary Signs Must Have a Permit
During construction on SH26, the City of Colleyville relaxed the standards on temporary signs for Colleyville businesses. Now that construction is wrapping up, the City is focusing on beautifying the main commercial corridor.
The City of Colleyville wants to remind commercial property/business owners that, as part of maintaining and improving the appearance of commercial districts, City Ordinance Sec. 7-190 requires a permit for any type of temporary sign(s) on the outside of a commercial building. The City will start enforcing this code city-wide starting March 1, 2020.
A “temporary sign” is any sign not supported by a permanent frame and which is intended to be displayed for a limited period of time. This can include, but is not limited to, a sign, banner, pennant, flag, or inflatable.
Any temporary sign without a permit on your property must be removed. Signs without permits may be removed by the City without further notice.
